Terms of use

It’s your ride. We just help with the route.

These are the terms you agree to in the app before your first ride, word for word. Seven of them, in plain English.

Updated 6 October 2026Beta
  1. It’s a riding aid PathForce helps you find your way. It does not replace your own judgement about where it is safe to ride.
  2. You’re still riding a bike Watch the road, obey the road rules and signs, and ride to the conditions and your own ability. Keep your bike roadworthy, use lights in the dark and wear a helmet where the law asks. What the app says never outranks what you can see.
  3. Don’t handle the phone while moving PathForce is built to be ridden hands-free: set the route before you go, mount your phone and listen. Stop somewhere safe before you touch it.
  4. Maps and routes can be wrong The map, the routes and the surface readings come from other people’s data. Roads change, paths close, and data goes out of date. A route can include a road or path that is closed, private or unsafe for a bike.
  5. At your own risk Every ride is entirely at your own risk. You are responsible for your own safety, your bike, your equipment and how you ride. As far as the law allows, PathForce is provided as is, with no warranty and no liability for loss or injury that follows from using it.
  6. It’s still being built Things move, change name and occasionally break between builds. Don’t rely on it where a wrong turn, a crash of the app, a flat battery or a lost GPS signal would put you at risk.
  7. Other people’s services The map, the routing and the search come from MapTiler and openrouteservice (HeiGIT), a place it can’t find from HERE, and a pasted address the search can’t find from Geoapify; location and the spoken voice are your phone’s, from Apple. Their own terms apply to what they provide.

Your rights

Nothing in these terms takes away rights the law gives you that can’t be excluded, including your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Your privacy

What the app keeps, what it sends and who it sends it to is on the privacy page.

Changes

When these terms change, the app asks you to agree again before your next ride, and the date at the top of this page moves.
